    Gate valve has the characteristics of small fluid resistance, wide range of pressure and temperature. It is the most commonly used cut-off valve for cutting off or connecting the medium in the pipeline. According to the structure of valve stem, gate valve can be divided into open-stem wedge gate valve and concealed-stem wedge gate valve. The opening and closing part of the gate valve is the gate. The gate of the gate valve moves in a straight line with the stem, and the direction of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. Gate valves can only be fully opened and closed, not regulated and throttled. It is suitable for water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing medium, urea and other media.

Product characteristics

The medium passage inside the valve body is straight through, the medium flows in a straight line, and the flow resistance is small.

Whether the gate is opened or closed, the direction of gate motion is perpendicular to the direction of medium flow. Compared with the globe valve, the opening and closing of gate is more labor-saving.

The lifting of the gate is carried out by screw, and the opening and closing stroke of the gate is large. Therefore, the gate valve has a higher height and a longer opening and closing time.

Due to the long closing time, water hammer phenomenon is not easy to occur.

The two sides of gate valve passage are symmetrical, and the medium can flow in any direction to both sides, so it is easy to install.

1. Open stem gate valve: The stem nut is on the cover or bracket. When opening and closing the gate, the stem nut is rotated to achieve the lifting of the valve stem. This structure is beneficial to the lubrication of the valve stem and has obvious degree of opening and closing, so it is widely used.

2. Dark stem gate valve: The stem nut is in the body of the valve, which is in direct contact with the medium. When opening and closing the gate, it is realized by rotating the valve stem. The advantage of this structure is that the height of the gate valve is always unchanged, so the installation space is small. It is suitable for large caliber or limited installation space of the gate valve. The structure should be equipped with an opening and closing indicator to indicate the degree of opening and closing.


The Difference between Open-stem Gate Valve and Dark-stem Gate Valve

1. The lifting screw of the CONCEALED-ROD flange gate valve only rotates but does not move up and down. The exposed screw is only a rod. Its nut is fixed on the gate plate. The gate plate is lifted by the rotation of the screw, and there is no visible gate frame. The lifting screw of the open-rod flange gate valve is exposed, and the nut is close to the handwheel and fixed (neither rotating nor axially). The gate is lifted by rotating screw. The screw and the gate have only relative rotational motion but no relative axial displacement. The appearance of the gate is a portal bracket.

2. The hidden rod valve can not see the screw, while the open rod can see the screw.

3. The hand wheel and the stem are connected relatively immovable when the hidden stem valve is switched on and off. It is driven by the rotation of the stem at the fixed point to lift the disc up and lower the gate to complete the opening and closing. Open stem valve is through the threaded transmission of stem and handwheel to lift or lower the gate, that is, open stem valve is disc connected with the stem to do up and down movement, the handwheel is always at the fixed point.
